Etsy Bites The Hand That Feeds It ~

My Dear Customers,

With a sad heart, I write this to inform you that Etsy has shut down my Shop without prior notice. My issue started while reporting another wedding seller who was using 6 of my photo’s as her own. I asked the seller to remove my photo’s, or I would be reporting the offenses. This seller refused to remove them and I was forced to report the listings to Etsy, along with numerous other listings of items that the seller was selling that were not handmade ~ but for resell (not allowed on Etsy) . The seller retaliated and reported untruths regarding some of my listings in my Etsy Shop. I found this out when I received an email from Etsy that they removed my lists (177) and shutdown my shop. The listings were purchased and owned by me and won't be returned by Etsy.

Long story short, instead of Etsy doing the right thing and reinstating my listings and selling privileges ~ it appears rather than admitting fault that they made the final decision to not reopen my Etsy Shop. They did this by email and stating they have the right to close a shop on their own terms. I spent many hours conversing with different departments on Etsy (Integrity, Support, Legal) by email as there are NO telephone numbers available to speak with anyone. Very frustrating experience!

PLEASE REST ASSURED THAT ALL PENDING ORDERS WILL BE CREATED AND DELIVERED. PLEASE CONVO ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

I would like to thank each and every customer for your support of my artistry. I have had an amazing time serving you over the past 2 1/2 years ~ with a 100% feedback rating and 1,098 sales to date. Even though I feel I have been mistreated by Etsy I still believe that it is an amazing venue for talented artistisans...and there are many! I encourage you to enjoy this venue for the talented artisians, suppliers and vintage items available. I am moving on and hope to be able to set up my own website in the future.

Cest La Vie ... Paris...from start to completion ~

One of a kind assemblage necklace ~ Paris

I love how this necklace turned out and thought I would take photos of the process and materials used. I hope it gives an idea what is used in creating a piece like this ~ starting with photo #1 ...

No, you are seeing correctly ~ this is a small paper box where you find wooden match sticks (discard cover and match sticks).
This is what I have used to make a small showdow box.

To reinforce this half box I have used netted plaster material ~ which is used to make a cast when a limb is broken. Dipping it in water and wrap around the box (I wrap it twice to make it strong) until it is completely covered ~ letting the box dry overnight.

Modge Podge brushed on moistened paper images and carefully placing onto the box~ drying after each step.

and now the real artistic expression and fun begins...

Layer, layering and more layers using combinations of artist chalk, crayons and two different compositions of pigment powders and a product called H20 (solid pigment using water ~ working into a paste). Between each product I brush on a coating of Gel Medium ~ more drying time between each step.

Patience ~

next wrap the decorated box and glass cover with copper foiling ~ using flux and silver solder to securely seal the box.

Embellishing with French charms, stampings, vintage rhinestone jewels - soldered to box, vintage bias tape, chunky chain ~ hand oxidize silver solder and components for a vintage cohesive look.

Very labor instensive; but so much fun to make!

Due to the drying steps for each process this piece took 3 days from start to completion ~ I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it!

Shoemakers Kids Go Without Shoes...

No this isn't really a posting of the "Shoemaker and his kids"... As a mixed media jewelry designer, I rarely keep any of my creative pieces for myself. Recently, I made two pieces just for me. I thought I would share them and I hope you like them also! This is my favorite piece. I splurged and used such yummy materials to create this one of a kind necklace. Gorgeous baby pink Baroque pearls hand wired wrapped using vintage oxidized wire. Faceted rock crystal ~ hand embellished by cutting apart ornate bead caps and soldering the pieces to the front and back of the crystals. French spiritual medallion, guilloche rhinestone cross and mother of pearl locket with cross accent all dangle below the crystals. Love it! My favorite chunky faceted Aquamarine gem beads were used with checkerboard faceted rock crystals and two-tone faceted Czech crystals. I found the two vintage metal findings at the flea market ~ where else? :) Sometimes when I can't find the right components, or findings to create with I will make them myself. The soldered connectors I made to join the beads and rock crystals to the double strands. The heart was made using a turquoise heart that I wasn't fond of ~ I foil wrapped, silver soldered and embelished it with a vintage rhinestone finding and various components.

So much beauty encased behind French Crystal ~~~ my one of a kind hand embelished image using powder pigments, artist chalk and German glass glitter feature 3 beautiful ballerinas. Wrapped in copper foil and silver soldered ~~~ 1920's Art Deco rhinestone fur clip, a vintage rhinestone drop dangles delicately below with reproduction antique silver components, faceted opalescent quartz briolets, fresh water pearls in cream and blush pink, vintage bias tape, flower rhinestones and beautiful carved Czech crystals with sterling silver hand patina chain. The back of the pendant is also beautifully finished with soldered floral embellishments in antique silver. All components and connections have been soldered closed ~ be assured that the piece is strong and secure. Simple lobster clasp closure in sterling silver. Christmas Tree...part one

I thought I would share a few photo's of my Christmas tree.

Decorating the tree is always a real labor of love and usually takes me 4 to 5 hours!

I enjoy unwrapping each ornamanet and reflecting on the memories behind each of them.

This year I used my wedding gown as my tree skirt! I live in a Victorian and my Christmas decorating seems to always gravitate to this era...with lot's of sparkle and BLING, of course! The back of my multiple lace teared gown adds to the effect. :)

Embelished Soldered Vintage Rhinestone Assemblage Necklace, etc...

Recent one of a kind Creations...

Inspired and deeply touched by the beautiful image of a hand painted Italian portrait ~~~ I felt the need to create a one of a kind piece to include her.

Pendant.....hand embelished by using powdered pignments and German glass glitter. Copper wrapped foil and silver soldered crystal with created bail. Hand set and individually soldered floral and grape embelishment findings ~~~ accented with a bit of vintage rhinestone bling.

Necklace.....hand wire wrapped Rainbow Agate in beautiful blues. Accented with multiple sized facted two-tone Czech crystals, abalone beads, gray pearls and vintage rhinestone rondelles. A hand oxidized rhinestone magnetic ball closure securely completes this multiple necklace beaded chain.

I have always loved images of the Madonna and Spiritual visions...

Hand embellished Madonna photo using powdered pigments and German glass glitter (to obtain the multi color glitter I meticulously hand painted the glitter using the pignmented powder with a small brush). Distressing techniques were used to age the image. Copper foil wrapped and silver soldered behind glass. Individual pewter flowers were hand soldered with vintage rhinestones and Czech Picasso Crystal accents.
Antique seam binding connected and wrapped with faceted Labadorite round and rondelle beads (beautiful sapphire blue facets that have lovely flash), vintage silvertone carved rose beads, faceted AB Czech crystals, Picasso, Czech two tone crystals with wrapped and hammered distressed wire connectors.

Definitely One of a Kind...beautiful!

One of a Kind Vintage Assemblage "Fem" meets "Goth" Necklace by Romancing the Bling...

I love how this piece turned out!

Every once in a while I stray to the dark side of my creativity and I am moved to create in a Gothic Style...

I think she looks lovely in her created hand sewn frock!

During one of my flea market excusions, I purchased a vintage tattered piece of lace with hand sewn beading (held together with small safety pins). It was literally falling apart, but it was beautiful and I knew I it would bring inspiration to me. The spider and web are earrings and were also sewn to her gown. The back of her gown is also finished with a tulle bustle, distressed bow and a touch of bling.

Do you see the three tiny beaded bracelets gracefully dangling from her wrist...click on the images to enlarge the photos.

The necklace is composed of mostly vintage components...more vintage beaded lace with wrapped and sewn chaining, metal beads, a mix of Czech crystals, fresh water pearls, wire earring and a tiny 1920's rhinestone pot metal brooch for a touch of vintage bling.

I took these two photo's during the night using a flash. A bit spooky...don't ya think?

Do you remember the heart shaped Amethyst Druzy pieces I purchased two weeks ago from the International Gem and Jewelry Show?

Well...

I am so glad that I purchased three of them as this beauty sold during the Fog Fest this past weekend. My jewelry is carried locally at The Pickled Hutch in Pacifica, California.

Hand wrapped, silver soldered and buffed to a beautiful shine ...the amethyst heart exceeded my expectations of how beautiful it would turn out.
Nestled between freshwater pearls are cubic zirconia rondelles, faceted Czech crystals and chunky Ametrine (amethyst/citrine) wire wrapped in sterling silver. A touch of vintage rhinestone bling was added to the created soldered bail.

I wish my photo's conveyed the true color of the amethyst heart ...it is not "black" as it shows in my photo's.

A beautiful vintage rhinestone finding and chunky metal chain, handmade hammered silver soldered links mixed with elongated faceted crystals and vintage metal beads were used in the design and creation of this one of a kind piece.

I found this fabulous vintage large metal with blue flower finding while shopping at one the local flea markets in San Francisco. I thought it would make an interesting focal pendant.

Hammered silver soldered links wire wrapped with a mix of turquoise, labadorite, opal beads, cubic zirconia rondelles and unique findings with a touch of applied vintage rhinestones were used for a touch of bling on this one of a kind neck piece.

I love working with Madonna images...

An embellished spiritual image of the Madonna using chalks and German glass glitter, a gorgeous faceted crystal with an amazing table showing the image clearly. Copper wrapped and silver soldered. A vintage cross and finding; both soldered to the crystal image. Hammered silver soldered links wire wrapped to a mix of chunky faceted clear crystal beads, rondelles and Czech crystals. Accented by a sterling silver and cubic zirconia hand oxidized cross.

A cross, medallion, faceted moonstone, vintage chaining, rosaries and vintage Aurora Borealis flower findings dangle below oxidized sterling silver french wires.

A re-purposed vintage rhinestone neck chain with a secure box closure connects to wire wrapped mother of pearl rosary beads, Czech faceted crystals and faceted moonstone rondelles connect securely to a vintage rhinestone shoe clip and accented by a sterling silver (soldered) Cala Lily finding. A mix of rosary beads, faceted moonstone, vintage cross and Jesus photo findings with a vintage Aurora Borealis flower charm dangle freely.

Another one of a kind necklace by Romancing the Bling.

A 1920's vintage rhinestone and pot metal finding is the featured piece in this one of a kind creation presented by Romancing the Bling.

A mix of mother of pearl rosary beads wire wrapped and connected to hammered silver solder links, vintage chain pieces, white milk glass and blue jade beads. Securely dangling below are a vintage patina cross, spiritual medallion, jade and milk glass beads with a lovely vintage rhinestone finding.

I am afraid of MOST spiders!

I just couldn't resist making a couple of soldered oxidized CZ and freshwater pearl leather metal and rhinestone grommet snap bracelets. This one has sold!

The heart is Citrine and i've silver solder it by encasing it along the top and sides. It dangles freely below a vintage metal flower flea market find. A mix of hammered silver soldered links connect to vintage crystal rosary beads, wire wrapped chunky Ametrine, amethyst and rock crystal bead with vintage patina silver beads.

Yes, it is one of a kind!

I have always loved this image of the Madonna and child; a vintage prayer card.

Using beautiful olive green mother of pearl blister beads, Picasso Czech faceted crystals, amethyst beads and fresh water pearls in a sage green are wire wrapped and connected with hammered silver soldered links, which securely join all components together.

This beautiful soldered pendant includes a sterling silver leaf accent with a mother of pearl blister bead, amethyst and Czech crystals. A freckling of vintage rhinestones embellish the top of the pendant.

Jewelry Affaire Magazine

Originally they were to be featured in the Fall October edition, but due to an overwhelming amount of art received the magazine contacted me regarding the situation and the need to delay until 2011.
A bit disappointing as it would have been so much fun and flattering to be included with so many amazing artists.
I feel so blessed to be looking forward to this amazing opportunity into the Spring of next year! :)

International Gem and Jewelry Show

I awoke Sunday morning looking forward to attending the International Gem & Jewelry Show in San Mateo, California.

The drive should have taken under 30 minutes from San Francisco...

I ended up in bumper to bumper traffic for 2 1/2 hours with everyone moving just inches at a time! After the first hour of this frustration I turned on the radio to get an update on traffic and heard that there had been a 7 car pile up with two casualties. :(
Of course, this awful news put my inconvenience and frustration in to perspective. Later I found out the accident had happened at 3:00am that morning and the investigation and clean-up took until 3:00pm that Sunday.

My thoughts and prayers are with the families during this sad time.

After exiting the freeway and taking the streets the rest of the way...I decided to continue on as I had prepaid for my ticket online, and still had 2 hours left to attend.

It was really wonderful and I did ALOT of damage to my checking account in that short time!

My goal was to purchase fine faceted gem beads to mix in with my jewelry designs. I have already worked with chunky faceted Ametrine (amethyst/citrine), faceted Agate and faceted Thai Ruby beads (beautiful). These have brought a special elegance and beautiful color to some of my one of a kind necklaces.

In photo's one and two are tiny glass beads in colors that I love. Beautiful vintage colors of silvers, pinks and bronzes. I was inspired to purchase them to work in small detailing...posibilities of a little jewelry collage art?

The third photo is a mix of faceted stones ...the vendor told me what they were and I should have written them down. I especially love the moss green stones that have a little silvery sparkle running through them.

My favorite vendor had such exquisite faceted gem beads! I really wish I found her first!

In the fourth photo are gorgeous Aurora Borealis Labadorite in 3 different cuts and sizes (labradorite is mined in Africa and the AB process is done in India). They are so amazing in person!

The Amethyst (druzy) hearts above were found from a vendor that had such beautiful small to large chunks of Amethyst and Citrine (unfaceted)! When I saw these sweet amethyst hearts I just knew I had to purchase them. I am so inspired by there beauty and want to work them into my jeweled designs.

The third photo shows a mix of finely faceted Peridot, Ruby, Spinel (black), Garnet and Pyrite gem beads. I was shocked at how expensive these small beauties were. Of course, each stone is hand faceted in order to obtain such beauty!

My ABSOLUTE favorite faceted stone is shown in the fourth photo...Moonstone! I am so in love with it in it's rough form! I can't wait to work with the chunky beads and faceted rondelles!!!

In the same photo are beautiful Chalcedony faceted rondelle beads in fushia (salmon)...so beautiful in person

Even with limited time I was still able to manage to do alot of retail therapy at this event!

The next show in San Mateo will be in November and I plan to be there with a fistfull of $$$$! :)

Of course, I always have to bring out the "Bling" when ever something new comes into play...

Today was the airing of the Today Show segment where DailyCandy.com Editor-at-large, Dannielle Kyrillos presented DailyCandy's favorite bridal accessories and featured a small collection of my heirloom wedding hair combs! It was so much fun to see my vintage combs and hearing the name of my jewelry line... Romancing the Bling on T.V. :) A definite first for me!

Daily Candy features Romancing The Bling on The Today Show

Okay, it is such a relief to be able to share the good news finally. Those familiar with my jewelry collection, know that I have basically two lines. One line features one of a kind artisan pieces with an old world elegance and the other features vintage and vintage inspired heirloom wedding accessories. Well....... my wedding line is going to be part of a Daily Candy wedding segment on The Today Show tomorrow morning!

I have been on such a high since they contacted me last Monday, partly from the huge compliment and partly from exhaustion creating inventory around the clock for my Etsy store and The Pickled Hutch in preparation. I am so flattered and excited to have my creations included in the segment and their contact person has been a delight to work with in assisting me getting everything in order. Also, many thanks to my friend Shawn Peltier for his photo styling genius. No one can whip a face and hair into gorgeousness like Shawn! I am so lucky as he has "whipped" some pretty famous faces and he helped make my pieces look fantastic. And of course to my friend Lisa who taught me the power of the macro function and a good light box! And been an excellent assistant on top of her daytime job running her store.

I have been truly blessed these past months since retiring from my "grown up" job as I have been able to design and create my jewelry full time.

It truly is my passion!!!

I've heard somewhere that good and bad things tend to happen in threes.

I'm happy to say that only good things are happening to me!!!

First, I have a few select pieces accepted for publication in the spring/summer edition of Jewelry Affaire magazine.

Secondly, I have been invited to do a trunk show at the Four Seasons Hotel in San Francisco on October 9th showcasing my One of a Kind Vintage Rhinestone Hair Combs!

They would also like to carry my heirloom wedding accessories in their Gift Shop at the Spa!

AND...

for the third thing, I have even BIGGER news that I have to keep under my hat until tuesday!

Missing my love on our 30th Wedding Anniversary~

You picked me up for our first date in October 1975. It was a blind date. I was 17 and a senior in high school, and you were 20 and a sophmore in college. From that evening on we were joined at the hip and rarely separated.

Our wedding was beautiful that Saturday, August 16, 1980.

Thank you for giving me such a wonderful life filled with your unconditional love and support. We have two wonderful sons...they absolutely adored you! You were always such a great role model to them. They miss you.

Life can be unfair. Over 12 years ago God had a different plan for you as you were taken away from me. It's still difficult for me not having you here in person. I loved you. So many people loved you!

I am blessed. I was given true love...not 30 years, but I have my memories of you in a special place in my heart and this can never be taken away.

I love you my Harvey.

Candlestick Flea Market, San Francisco

Today was amazing at the Candlestick Flea Market in San Francisco!

My friend Patti and I went together and had an great time!

What great finds to add to my "ever" growing collections! :)
Can you believe we were only able to be there for 2 hours?

Can you imagine if we had stayed the entire day and had wheel barrels of money to spend...Oh, I would have been in heaven!

It's really all about the BLING!

I scored BIG!!!

This spectacular flea market is held at Candlestick Park on the 3rd Sunday of every month!

In September (next month), it will be held on the 4th Sunday, as the 49er's will have a home game.

Fun times can be had at the end of September!

What do you think about girlfriends gathering together and spending the day taking in all the "Eye Candy"?!?!?!

BTW, the food is also AMAZING! Patti and I stuffed ourselves with HUGE Sausage in a Roll with Sauerkraut and Onions, Mustard, etc...all for $6!

Hand aged Madonna photo (front) is a lovely spiritual vision behind an assemblage of... vintage optical lense, hand oxidized round brass bezel accented by vintage rhinestones with a large hand patina sterling silver filigree butterfly, which has been securely soldered above. Dangling freely is a mix of hand oxidized SS cubic zironia cross and heart findings, faceted Thai 5mm ruby and medallion.
The back side of the pendant features an etched patina pocket watch finding with a hand oxidized brass cross. Vintage rhinestones and a brass filigree finding complete the pendant.
The necklace is a generous mix of wire wrapped 8mm and 5mm faceted Thai rubies, brass cz rondelles, vintage rose beads, champagne Czech crystals, vintage silvertone rosary beads with vintage chaining, oxidized cubic zironia stones set in sterling silver cross dangling down the back.

A true labor of love to create and is available for purchase in my Etsy Shop.

In creating this piece I was influenced by the beautiful women and jewelry of the Art Deco Era.

The Art Deco period originated in France at a time when women - who had been doing men's jobs while the men went off to war - began to express their new-found freedom...

This lovely lady has been hand enhanced by soft chalk pastels and German glass glitter and sits behind a silver soldered vintage optical lense. Her beauty further enhanced by soldered Art Deco rhinestone earrings and findings and securely affixed to an Art Deco marcasite finding. The back of the pendant has been finished with a reproduction antique silver filigree finding made from original molds of the early 1900's.
A generous mix of wire wrapped large faceted Ametriine (amethyst & citrine)bead capped stones, Czech crystals in deep purple, lavendar, saphire blue, light blue, champagne and faceted rock crystals. The closure has been hand made from a rhinestone vintage finding and securely hooks in place.

A statement piece and romantic decor...a wonderful gift as it is one of a kind!

I have always wanted to own and dress up an Antique Dress Form. For years and years I have searched for the perfect one for me...but to no avail. They were either not right, or way out of my price range!

So, I decided to create my own!

Yesterday, I went shopping for an Antique Floor Lamp and found it at the San Francisco Antique Mall.

I must have looked at 8 or 10 before falling in love with the base on this beauty!

I went shopping at Lowes to choose the various components to "marry" the floor lamp to my Dress Form body (purchased at The Pickled Hutch), and to choose Chicken Wire to patina (oxidize)...giving it an aged appearance.

Who knew that using Plumbing supplies would work!...;-)

I sawed and I sawed and then I sawed some more until I thought my arm would fall off!!!

Okay, I guess I exaggerated a wee bit!

Using my soldering supplies....

I wrapped with Copper Tape, coated with Flux and Silver Soldered the components under the Dress Form to stablize the pieces.

Note to self: Use gloves while working with the Chicken Wire...OUCH!

Completing this step will be continued in the next posting...wish me luck!

Yes everyone, I am still alive!

I have been so swamped with the unexpected success of my Etsy shoppe that I have been remiss with visiting my blog friends and posting. Not bragging, just thrilled and overwhelmed with the reception my creations have been getting. I recently became a part of the Etsy Wedding Team and have been creating for brides all over the world. I had soooo much fun creating these...SO ROMANTIC!!!

Vintage rhinestone earrings, broaches and findings were repurposed and securely fashioned to silver plated hair combs and hair pins.

Wouldn't these be lovely in an "up-do" or just to add a bit of vintage "BLING" to your locks?

The hair accessories will be a new feature in my Etsy Shop and will be added soon.

I had so much fun designing the lovely cameo necklace above.

Vintage rhinestones embellish the Cameo of a lovely renaissance woman, who is gazing at a little bird on her shoulder. The neck chain of oval antique brass, faceted beads, Swarovski crystals and rhinestone rondelles add a bit of color and sparkle.

Bracelets and earrings are created with a mix of antique brass, rhinestone findings and pearls with more faceted Swarovski crystals.

Rhinestones of Auora Borealis (light blue in color) have been securely fixed to silver plated hair combs.

Gorgeous blue faceted crystal and pearl vintage earrings are fixed to silver plated hair pins.

A 1920's vintage rhinestone shoe clip has been repurposed and hangs below a sterling silver chain embellished with Swarovski crystal light grey pearls and rhinestone rondelles.

I've added some 1920's & 30's vintage rhinestone shoe and dress clips from my collection in the photograph.

Oh, such Glam!

Gorgeous Vintage buckles in antique silver with clear and colored rhinestones have been securely fashioned to silver plated hair combs.

Light yellow (cloth) with clear rhinestone vintage shoe clips have been securely fixed to silver plated hair combs.

Vintage earrings of purple and lilac rhinestones and antique gold have been fashioned to small gold plated hair combs.

My favorite hair bobbies have to be these vintage Art Deco rhinestone and jet earrings. These have been securely fashioned to silver plated hair pins.

A vintage rhinestone broach and 2 vintage rhinestone (4 rows) bar shoe clips have been repurposed into hair clips.

It's been fun repurposing vintage jewels into hair pins, combs and clips.

These, along with the 2 pair of vintage repurposed rhinestone chadelier style earrings will be featured in my Etsy shop.

I'm not sure if that is what led to the sale of this wreath, but it felt great to be recognized as having something I created be worthy of this honor! BACON EXPLOSION!

Can you say HEART ATTACK?!?!?

While viewing the article I came across the blogger (link below). He and his family prepared this recipe on their BBQ (see YouTube-below). It made me laugh as it reminded me of the time I BBQ'd 3 racks of Beef Back Ribs and my gas grill caught on fire! It remained on fire even when I turned off the gas...so I grabbed the hose and drenched the grill until the fire went out. The ribs were almost charcoal on the outside! I was so disappointed as the dinner was for my friend Lisa's birthday. Well, long story short, I cut up the ribs and put them in a Dutch oven; coated them in BBQ sauce and finished off the cooking process in the oven. You guessed it! They were the best ribs...everyone loved them! I won't be repeating this prep in the future...you had to be there for the visual effects (i.e. flames, black smoke that was approx. 10 feet above the house and dripping wet BBQ). lol I really thought that the Fire Department would show up and run their hoses through my house and onto my deck! lol I hope you enjoy YouTube!

I love decorating during the Christmas Holiday Season! Due to a virus that has finally reared it's ugly head I am trying to play catch up. I love how this Swaroski crystal necklace turned out!

I was home sick today with a MONSTER HEADACHE! This afternoon my head started to feel a bit better and so I decided to play with all my goodies. I really love how this necklace turned out! I wish the camera could have captured the beautiful brillance of the individual Swarovski crystals in this necklace. The large crystal pendant is 2 1/2 to 3 inches long!

I purchased a couple of strands of Swarovski crystals and took them apart, as I wanted to intigrate them in my jewelry designs. I'm really pleased how this one turned out!

These tree's are secured and weighted in pots (Plaster of Paris) that have either been exposed to the elements (given a nice patina), or are covered in toile fabric. My trees and wreaths are a true labor of love as they can take up to 8 hours to do; depending on the size, of course! SOLD

It's hard not making a mess when one is having fun playing! lol

I thought I would share some of the earrings that I have made. These are my first tries and I came away pretty happy! I'm sorry some of the photo's are a bit fuzzy...i'm still learning how to work my digital camera.

I love the metal & marcasite beads used for both of these pairs of earrings. I've had these beads for a few years and never got around to using them.

I love how these earrings turned out! I especially love the tiny dragonflies. The pair above has a sweet little amethyst glass flower bead...adding just a bit of contrast.

Updated on November 3rd...While working at The Pickled Hutch last Sunday, November 2nd, I made two more pairs of dragonfly and crystal earrings. In the photo above (which is definitely less blurry)... I photographed all of the earrings I have so far created in this category.

I am having so much fun learning how to make earrings!!!

I made these two necklaces last Sunday, while working at my friend Lisa's antique shop..."The Pickled Hutch". Lisa's sister & her mom were in town to celebrate their mom Charleen's 73rd birthday. This was a rare day off for Lisa and I hope she enjoyed it! During the quite time in the shop I spread out my vintage findings and created these necklaces. Then I took advantage of the beautiful surroundings of the antique shop and had fun photographing them .

I am so IN LOVE with this BEAUTIFUL Antique Dental Cabinet!

This beauty is on lay-away at the Vintage Cove Antique Store... located AT 1614 Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica, California. The owners of this establishment are a husband and wife team, who offer an eclectic mix of charming antiques! Efrain and Yolanda were introduced to me through my good friend, Lisa Wilson. Lisa owns The Pickled Hutch at 2021 Palmetto Avenue; just blocks away from the Vintage Cove. Thank you Lisa for introducing me to Efrain and Yolanda, who over the years have become my friends to.

This beautiful cabinet will become the perfect display and oganizational piece for my vintage jewelry! Oh, I can't wait to place all of my vintage shoe, dress & fur clips, as well as brooches in these small drawers! There are a total of 16 small/shallow drawers and 6 large/deep drawers. The three small cabinets at the top of the cabinet have white porcelain inserts...oh so sweet! There is also beautiful white marble on the counter of the cabinet and a thick marble base at the bottom.

OH YEAH! IT'S GONNA BE MINE!!!

I would like to introduce my son Patrick and his wife Margaret! The happy couple were married Saturday, September 20th. The ceremony was so beautiful and the reception was festive! My youngest son Brian, who played the part of best man toasted his brother and new sister with love and with a bit of his quirky sense of humor. As their mother, my heart swelled with pride for both my sons! The day was joyful and bittersweet as my husband and their father, Harvey who has been deceased for almost 11 years was not able to be there in person. A special memorial candle had been lit in his honor. When the ceremony ended I gave my mother in law the long stem rose that had been placed next to me, which would have been where he sat. She in turn placed the rose next to the memorial candle that was burning below the statue of Mary. Harvey and I were married in the same church ... seeing my son up at the alter conveying his love to his bride brought back so many special memories of our day 28 years ago. I felt Harv's presence there with us and it's a memory I will hold dear, forever.

Meet Miss Mildred...surrounded by all her finery. How "charming" is she? Well, believe it or not, in a past life, her vintage created photo and hand-placed Swaroski crystal frame was once a plain 'ol button cover? Yes, this is true, I kid you not! Of course, Miss Mildred would never admit to this as she is a lady of means and would faint away with the vapors if her society friends were ever to find out. So, mums the word, okay?

By clicking on the photo...you will be able to view her finery and see Mildred up close. On inspection of her photo it appears to have water damage. This was done on purpose to give the photo an aged and worn look. The photo is protected by a clear acrylic disk.

His "Royal Highness"...baby Emannuel, sat for his monthly photo session with the Royal Portrait Photographer. His mother insists that he wear the crown he was born to...of course, little Emmanuel isn't very happy and gave the RPP a very hard time!

Emannuel's mother wears her son's photo proudly...it is encased in a vintage repurposed earring, which is framed by an antique silver finding (made from an early 1900's mold.) Lovely Swaroski crystal briolettes dangle on each side of a sweet dragonfly. Enameled flowered stations and grey pearls link the crystal rosary to an antique silver pendant holder. Before the famed Miss Loreli Bling was discovered in 1923 by the ever handsome and famous movie mogul, Todd Charming... News Hounds discovered her to be a lady of ill repute!

In her former station in life she was a mere hollowed-out pendant. Since her new creation, her photo (protected by a clear acrylic disc), with the finest of Swaroski crystals have been handset and repurposed to the glitz and glamour she has come to expect. Of course, the blue-green enameled and crystal pendant (oops! I mean photo holder), had been meticulously selected to match her eyes. To further compliment her eyes and "photo holder" are sweet crystals of pink and blue dangles.

The beautiful Abigal has been his prisoner for centuries...

He has captured her beauty behind multiple rows of exquisite rhinestones and sealed her confines with tea stained lace. To insure her vision will never escape he has finished her imprisonment by affixing a large vintage plating with taupe colored pearls applied to all four sides to seal her fate. What her captor doesn't realize is that she could never be fully his, as her lover has given her the key to his heart, and a lock of his hair has been placed in her vintage flowered locket. These items with her diamonds she holds close, as to sustain her santity...

Come join me on my deck for a little "RNR"...

Meet my friend "Ernie"...he's my favorite garden planter. I love his sweet face and vibrant colors!

My deck can get quite warm during the day...a cool drink is usually in order. As the sun moves from this side of the house, one of my favorite things to do is relax with my feet up and read a good book!

Also, if you click on the pic you will see my tall, outdoor candle chandelier. I have been collecting hanging colored glass with antique silver tea light candle holders for many years. I bought this iron, chippy, three tiered garden hanging tree from "The Pickled Hutch" http://www.thepickledhutch.blogspot.com/ a couple of summers ago...and I just love it! On a nice evening, I like to light it, as it gives off such a romantic ambiance!

It's wonderful to sit here sharing a meal or a game of cards with close friends. Sometimes, I start my morning with a cup of coffee and some lovely fruit from the farmers market. The beautiful pink carnations are from my visit to the market this morning. I had to have them, because they reminded me of my grandfather's garden (his garden was beautiful and fragrant) and the fun my brother and I would have while visiting.

This vintage inspired necklace was so much fun to make! It features a large locket pendant (very roomy for that special someone you want to hold close.) Complimenting the locket are a black jeweled button and large creamy pearl and filigree drop. Multiple charms of a fleur de lis, humming bird, heart, dragonfly and a crystal with pearl drop. All these lovelies are hanging from a silver tone rose beaded rosary. The necklace nestles between the bosoms, but can be adjusted to a shorter length.

Oh my Goodness this looks yummy!

I found this wonderful Berry Desseret from the cookbook of Lori Longbotham's Luscious Berry , which I found on "Cream Puffs in Venice" http://creampuffsinvenice.ca/. Don't you LOVE the name of Ivonne's blog?

Ivonne says..."This one is a gem and comes together quite quickly. All you do is roll out some puff pastry and bake it. Make up a batch of your favourite pastry cream and spread it over the cooled tart base. Then top with some beautiful, fresh strawberries and some melted strawberry jam for a quick glaze." Doesn't it sound simple? I love anything with Puff Pastry! lol

After visiting Ivonne's gorgeous blog today I can't wait to return often to see what great recipes she has to offer.
